The Little Black Dress was born in 1926 to the fabulous Coco Chanel, but was later adopted in 1961 by Audrey Hepburn. The LBD instantly became a star. She is a staple piece for every woman and is known for her versatility, chicness and elegance. When wearing a LBD, you can never go wrong because she is always right for any occasion. She was born in the 20's and she will live forever. She is a true Fashion Icon.
I was in a Lotus Boutique the other day and noticed one of the cutest little dresses that I had seen in a while. I asked the owner if I could photograph her and her cute dress for my blog and she was kind enough to agree. Turns out, she is Mrs. South Carolina... Birmingham AL Style, meet Shana Harmon-Goff.
Let the count down begin! On Thursday, September 6th, two days from now, join me and Birmingham's finest as we shop and preview what is haute for the up coming fall season at Birmingham's Fashion Night Out! Fashion Night Out is a great way to check out the latest trends and upgrade your wardrobe. This event started four years ago as a global initiative by Vogue. These parties are taking place all over the world in places including New York, Brazil, China, London,Turkey and Spain. It was started to give local shops a voice in the world of fashion. The proceeds collected from the event's sales will go to the AIDS foundation. Some of my favorite stores will take part in this fabulous extravaganza such as BCBG, Gus Mayer, Saks, Belk, Juicy Couture, Free People and many more! Most stores will serve champagne and have additional discounts for us fashionistas on a budget. So ladies, call your girls and get all dressed up to come out to The Summit and/or Brookwood Mall and see all the fabulousness our city has to offer!
I'll be there with camera in hand, so dress to impress!
